Tell us about your background. What got you into AI?
I have accumulated over a decade of experience as a software engineer with a primary focus on building highly available micro-services and working with big data streaming. I have contributed significantly to the cloud transformation for national banks. Simultaneously, I pursued my Master’s degree, and while doing so, I received an invitation to develop a pedestrian detector for my PhD at Vilnius Tech. This is where my interest in AI sparked, and I have since continued to pursue it passionately.
What was your role in developing the NC algorithm?
I have contributed extensively to the system architecture, system design, and actual implementation. My work has involved both conceptual and practical contributions, with a focus on developing innovative solutions that deliver measurable benefits to the end-user.
What inspired the team to start developing a decentralized AI network?
In my professional opinion, we are currently experiencing an AI renaissance. The potential applications of AI are vast and far-reaching, and if used ethically and responsibly, they have the ability to significantly enhance productivity, improve living standards, and contribute to general well-being.
What were the major technical challenges you faced during development?
There are a number of important factors to consider when implementing an effective AI strategy, beginning with the infrastructure itself. Sufficient resources must be allocated to enable efficient training while simultaneously ensuring that the trained model can be made available to customers via inference. Additionally, it is crucial to gather a substantial amount of data for the training dataset in order to ensure accurate and effective AI models.
